2016-07-01  -  IGEN participates in the RETOS-COLABORACION 2016 program

The RETOS COLABORACIÓN 2016 project “Epigen-2” led by IGEN Biotech intends to carry out the clinical validation of the Epigen-kit capable of detecting a biomarker to be used by oncologists as an objective tool to individualize treatment of non-small cell lung cancer in advanced stages. The consortium is composed of IGEN Biotech, the Foundation of Biomedical Research of Hospital La Paz (Madrid) and the Foundation for R&D&i Ramón Domínguez (Santiago de Compostela). The 4-years project, with 1.176.690 € total budget, is funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

2016-06-10  -  IGEN gets a Torres Quevedo grant (2014)

IGEN receives the approval of a Torres Quevedo grant (grant announcement 2014), awarded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, which allows the hiring of one doctor for the development of a specific project. The grant has a duration of three years.

2015-12-29  -  IGEN participates in the RETOS-COLABORACION 2015 program

The consortium led by IGEN Biotech intends to carry out the development and validation of two prototype kit capable of detecting a biomarker to be used by oncologists as an objective tool to individualize treatment in non-small cell lung cancer in advanced stages. The project also involve the IdiPAZ and ILAB Tech. The project is funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and funds from the European Union, within the objective of promoting the technological development, innovation and research.

2015-12-28  -  IGEN takes part in the RETOS COLABORACION program 2015

The consortium led by IGEN intends to carry out the development and clinical validation of a system analysis of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers that allow customize treatment in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The project also involves La Princesa Hospital Foundation for Biomedical Research, the Complutense University of Madrid and private firms Making Genetics, Ambar Laboratories and ILAB Tech. The project is funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and funds from the European Union, within the objective of promoting the technological development, innovation and research.

2015-12-18  -  IGEN gets a Doctorados Industriales grant

IGEN receives the approval of a Doctorados Industriales grant, awarded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, which allows the hiring of an investigator for his training as a doctor in enterprise. The grant has a duration of four years.

2014-10-30  -  IGEN licenses from the IdiPAZ an innovative technology to personalize treatment decisions in Lung Cancer

EPiGen technology is based on Epigenetic biomarkers and will be able to facilitate Oncologists better treatment decisions in patients with advanced lung cancer

2014-03-28  -  iGEN DNA extraction kits will be labeled with the CE-IVD mark

ILAB TECH starts marketing the DNA extraction kits developed by IGEN under the CE-IVD mark for In Vitro Diagnostic. Recently, it has obtained authorization from the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS).  Website: www.dnaextractiontech.com

2013-12-23  -  IGEN and ILAB Tech launch iGEN DNA Extraction Tech

IGEN will manufacture and commercialize the DNA extraction kits through the company ILAB TECH. The kits developed by IGEN under the brand iGEN DNA Extraction Tech, have been specifically designed to extract genomic DNA from low-cellularity samples and to improve considerably yields obtained.

2012-12-03  -  IGEN participates in the 2012 INNPACTO program

IGEN Biotech participates in the 2012 INNPACTO program from the Spanish Ministry of Competivity (MINECO). The consortium led by IGEN intends to develop a multi-diagnostic kit for Gynecological infections. In this project also participate the Complutense University of Madrid and the LEITAT Technological Center.

2011-11-04  -  IGEN participates in the 2011 INNPACTO program

2011-03-08  -  Seminar "Aptamers: possibilities and potential in the development of new applications in biotechnology".

IGEN Biotech in collaboration with the Madrid Scientific Park have presented a seminar about aptamers (oligonucleotides) and their application in biotechnology. Coordinated by Dr.Víctor Manuel González (Ramon y Cajal Hospital), other speakers have been Dr. Carlos Briones (Astrobiology Center - INTA), Dr. Juan Carlos Vidal (Zaragoza University) and professor of Pharmacology Ignacio Lizasoaín (Complutense University, Madrid).

2010-12-10  -  IGEN receives a grant from the CDTI

IGEN Biotech has received a grant from the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI), which depends form the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación (Science and Innovation Ministery). The grant provides financial support for the development of the Genomic DNA Extraction Kit for low cell concentration simples. With a total amount of  €215.000, the grant will fund part of the expenses of the project.

The Kit prototype is currently being tested in some reference centers and it’s expected to be ready for market during the first quarter of 2011.
